Monica E. Kuhn
Architect - B.E.S., B.Arch., O.A.A., GRP

Monica Kuhn is an architect in Toronto and graduate of University of Waterloo Architecture. Her firm, established in 1994, specializes in residential, sustainable, and green roof design.  Her firm recently celebrated 25 years in practice, creating client-focused, customized, and award winning homes.

She is a Green Roof instructor, and has written and lectured widely on urban greening and environmental design.

Monica was one of the founding members of Toronto's Rooftop Gardens Resource Group, a past board member of the Canada Trust Friends of the Environment and has been a Board Member, judge and Consultant for Green Roofs for Healthy Cities.

She has been awarded the Cabbagetown Preservation Association Peggy Kurtin Award for Excellence in Restoration for home renovation project five times.

Nina Meshaka
Intern Architect, M. Arch.

Nina is a graduate of Toronto Metro University Architecture and Damascus University of Architecture and has worked previously on single and multi-residential projects.  She joined Monica E. Kuhn, Architect Inc. in 2023 and is working on projects at all levels of residential design and permit drawing production.  She is excited to be learning about all aspects of residential architecture and applying her knowledge of design and drawing production to our projects.

David Shephard
Business Manager, B Sc., Diploma Eng. Technologist, SDA

David has been with the firm since 2002 and brings a background of green roofs, sustainable building materials application, residential building construction and project/business management, HR, IT, CAD drawing production, small practice finance, and employee performance management.  He is a member of the Society for Design Administration Canada (SDA Canada)

David works to ensure that all office systems are up and running, staff have the tools and support they need for all their project work, and that clients receive the documents and drawings they need to complete the construction of their project.
