Monica Kuhn Gets a 5th CPA award

Monica Kuhn has won her 5th Cabbagetown Preservation Association Excellence in Restoration Award in May 2019.

The most recent award was for the restoration of both the Monica E. Kuhn, Architect Inc. office and the attached home front facade.  Below are some progressive images starting in 2017 and finishing in July 2018.

The work included complete foundation replacement below grade, replacement of degraded first storey brick, complete rebuilding of all roof dormers, and details and installation of cedar shingles replicating the original 1890 pattern.

Copper drip edges, flashing and eave troughs were used.  New wall and dormer brackets were made to exactly replicate the original bracket detailing.
