This new four season cottage near Owen Sound was designed and built as the replacement of an older frame cottage on the same lot. As the centre building in a family holiday enclave spread out along the shore of Georgian Bay, the original cottage was the hub of activity for all generations. The Clients wanted the new building to recapture some of the spaces, views, and memories of the last 100 years, while enlarging the common areas, and upgrading kitchen, bathrooms, and envelope. The central great room can turn into a screened porch during hot summer days, with large sliding doors on each end.
