Hawthorn Avenue

This project involved the interior renovation of this Rosedale home to create an open concept kitchen, informal dining, and family room at the back, with views and access to the existing terrace, swimming pool and garden, and to streamline the entrance and circulation at the front, allowing for flexible spaces that could accommodate large corporate gatherings, while at the same time maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for family and friends.  Working within the existing footprint of the house, including several previous additions and renovations, the project involved major structural interventions, and the reallocation of uses to different areas of the floor plate – for example, the original living room became the formal dining room, and the original kitchen, dining, and family rooms all switched locations.
